General Data Protection Regulations 2018
The new regulations require all organisations that handle personal data to review how they hold and use the data collected. Having taken advice from the FBHVC, and undertaken a review, the club has put together the following privacy notice, which you are encouraged to read. This notice will also be included in our next newsletter.
The club holds the following details of each member and those entering club organised events:- Name, Postal address, Phone numbers, e-mail address, details of cars owned, Events attended, Photo images, date of joining the club and record of renewals & payments, where appropriate.
Use of data
This data is held for the legitimate purposes of running the club, including:- Keeping members informed of events and activities, Distribution of minutes and newsletters, Event bookings, Managing membership renewals & payments, Archive purposes relating to the history of the club.
The club may also use this data to advise members of items for sale and of offers, such as discounts, from suppliers. Please advise the Membership Secretary if you do not wish to be contacted for this purpose.
Correction or removal of data.
Personal details will be corrected or removed from the club's records on written request from members to the Membership Secretary.
Where data is held.
The data is held by the membership secretary using both paper and IT storage.
Sharing of data.
Data will be shared with the club committee and model champions. Members' name, town of residence and car model may be shared with other members for the purposes of sharing experiences of a given model. These details, together with photos, may also be included in the club newsletter and may be passed on to other publications, mainly in the form of winners lists.
Data will be held for as long as members retain their membership of the club. Thereafter it will be archived as part of the club's history, unless a members requests in writing to have it deleted.
